Our balanced and comprehensive cosmetology training program is a 1,200-hour program. Talented and experienced cosmetologists instruct students in the various phases of cosmetology through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training. We teach the theory of cosmetology as well as instruction in practical applications that students may use in their future careers.

One important aspect of the training includes actual experience of working in a professional salon. Licensed instructors directly supervise students as they interact with clients on our clinic floor. Students in our cosmetology program will be able to practice their skills with our professional tools and products to help prepare them for a career. After completion of the 1,200-hour course program, students will have the required amount of training hours to sit for the state exams.

How long does the cosmetology program take to complete?

The cosmetology program is designed to be 1,200 hours. If you are a full-time student, this can take as little as 36 weeks. Part-time students may complete the program in as few as 63 weeks. We offer flexible scheduling, including daytime and evening classes, because we don’t want you to put your life on hold to get the education you’ve been dreaming of!

Does Salon Success Academy prepare students for the State Board Examination?

Yes. Our curriculum is very specific and comprehensive, designed to provide students with the hard and soft skills they will need to use when sitting for the state exam.

Do students work with real clients while participating in the Cosmetology program?

Absolutely! One of the best ways we can train our students is to give them real-life experience on our clinic floor, performing various cosmetology services for real clients from our community. Our experienced instructors directly supervise the students and are available to give them tips and suggestions as they work.

How To Enroll in Cosmetology School

Students enrolling in our Cosmetology program are required to be at least 17 years old, and they must show U.S. completion of 12th grade (diploma or transcripts), GED, or pass results for the HiSET or TASC exam.

Taking a school tour is one of our favorite ways to get to know prospective students and help answer their questions.
