Here Are the 7 Nail Art Supplies Every Manicurist Needs
You already know all about the buffers and clippers and files you need as a manicurist, but nail art brings your tools of the trade to a whole different level. Whether you want to create a fancy French manicure, intricate designs with rhinestones, or a glittery surprise for holiday festivities, here are the seven nail art supplies and tools every manicurist needs to have.
1. Manicure Tweezers
You already have tweezers in your nail kit, but they’re essential for nail art. You can’t add tiny bedazzling jewels and mini nail accessories with your fingers! They’re also great for picking up and placing decals on nails.
2. Nail Art Tape
For French manicures and geometric and block designs, art tape allows you to create the look you want and polish accordingly. But you can also use stripping tape to create designs. How about a festive look for the holiday season?
3. Dotting Tool
If you want to make tiny dots on your nails or create tiny designs of any kind, you need a nail dotting tool. A dotting tool lets you do what a thicker nail polish brush doesn’t. It also takes the stress out of having to hold your hand rock steady during polish application.
4. Thin Tip Brush
You can pick up thin tip brushes at any beauty supply store, but if you don’t have time to get there, a small thin artist’s brush will do the trick. It will help you create thin lines and intricate detail that you wouldn’t be able to create with any other type of tool. Make sure when you’re done decorating that you clean the brush properly with a bit of nail polish remover.
5. Glitter Nail Polish Remover Pads
Glitter can be one of the most frustrating nail products to remove. It’s sticky and shiny and grainy. Make sure to invest in textured nail polish removal pads that can swipe off any finely milled or grittier glitter in mere minutes.
6. Matte Topcoat
Matte polishes are still a hot fashion statement so use a matte topcoat to instantly give your nails a facelift. It’s one of the easiest ways to transform any polish, shiny or not, and make it trend-ready.
7. Nail Polish Correcting Pen
A polish correcting pen can erase errors and imperfections and make your work look its best. The pen’s precision tip filled with nail polish remover can easily erase any mistakes along the side walls of nails.
