5 Grooming Mistakes Men Make
Both women and men should practice proper grooming techniques. Perfect your style. Don’t make these 5 common grooming mistakes!
1. Neglecting moisturizer
Everyone should moisturize. Moisturizer will keep your skin hydrated and help fight fine lines and wrinkles. It will also prevent the itchiness and irritation that sometimes occurs when shaving. Apply a lightweight moisturizer with SPF to your face and neck every day. It will hydrate, soothe, and protect your skin from the sun.

2. Dry shaving
Without the proper moisture or lubrication that water and shaving cream give you, dry shaving can result in razor burn, ingrown hairs, and a not-so-close shave. Shave during or immediately after a shower when your beard is softest and use a shaving cream or gel for best results.
3. Using dull razor blades
A dull, worn out blade can cause skin irritation, rashes, nicks, and cuts. It can leave your skin burned and bleeding. Razor blades can be pricey, so get the most out of the life of the blade, but replace it the moment it becomes dull or causes discomfort. The number of uses you’ll get from a single blade depends on how often you shave, the thickness of your beard, and how you treat your razor. Rinse your blade after each use with hot water to remove excess hairs and shaving cream and blot it dry to prolong its life.
4. Too much product
Hair and fragrance products are meant to enhance your look, not overpower it. Many aftershave products contain a high alcohol content which can be harsh on freshly shaved skin. Choose a soothing post shave balm instead that will calm your skin and re-moisturize it. For cologne, a light spray on the chest, behind the ears, or on the insides of the wrist should be enough. A few too many spritzes could make the difference between a subtle scent and a cloud of fumes. Hair gel or mousse that’s piled on so thickly that your hair feels crunchy is a big no-no. Use a small dab and work it through your hair to hold your style in place.
5. Unkempt eyebrows
Eyebrows are one of your most noticeable features, so make sure they’re well-groomed. There’s really no need to wax, traditional tweezing will do just fine. Don’t go overboard, most men only need to tidy up the outline of each brow and between the part. Consult a professional barber to find out the best brow shape for you.
