Our California beauty school has a long history that began over sixty years ago with our founder, Richard Gross. Back then, the school was known as Richard’s Beauty School. Now, Salon Success Academy has six locations throughout California’s Inland Empire, and we continue to provide our students with an education that can help help them succeed in their future beauty-related careers. Whether you have a passion for hair, skincare, nails, men’s hairstyles, or make-up, we have a program that could be for you. Our mission is to equip our students with the tools necessary to succeed in the beauty industry by providing exceptional technical education in the classroom and servicing our local communities. The training our students receive will enable them to successfully attain employment in the beauty industry and related fields.
Salon Success Academy welcomes students into our family, providing you with opportunities to complete your studies at the lowest cost possible. We are committed to helping you achieve your career goals and can provide you with academic and personal support while you study here. Our talented and caring instructors make classroom instruction and demonstrations interesting and fun, giving you various opportunities to nurture your creativity and learn the skills you can use in a beauty-related career.
We offer programs in Cosmetology, Esthetics, Barbering, Nail Technology, and continuing education courses in Make-up Designory/ MUD Makeup. Since our beauty schools are nationally accredited, we are able to offer financial aid options to those who qualify.
You can also take classes at a pace that fits your lifestyle. We offer day and evening classes, making it possible for students to study full-time or part-time. Choose from one of our six beauty school locations in Southern California. With six locations, we are big enough to provide unique opportunities, and small enough to maintain personal relationships.
In 1991, Robert Gross, son of our founder Richard Gross, became owner and president of Salon Success Academy, keeping the tradition in the family. Robert’s strong commitment to education, and to the community, is the foundation of Salon Success Academy’s “People Helping” culture today. Robert passed away in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of passion for the beauty industry. We fondly remember him as a teacher, school owner, mentor, friend, and strong advocate for the industry.
Orientation at Salon Success Academy introduces you to campus life through a fun and informative program that includes a continental breakfast. You can meet faculty and staff and other students. We give you the equipment and tools you can expect to use during your program, and we strive to answer any questions that you may have.
Our Student Ambassador Program is a program unique to us, and it has been proven to help students develop confidence and leadership skills. Ambassadors represent Salon Success during our Starting Smart Orientation and mentor new students. The program benefits you whether or not you become an ambassador because ambassadors support other students, striving to help them succeed. Becoming an ambassador may give you opportunities to meet with industry experts, attend hair shows, and represent our school throughout the community.
As part of our “people-helping company,” the staff at Salon Success Academy truly cares about the students’ progress and, ultimately, their professional success. We provide our staff with ongoing training and testing to ensure they are teaching more recent techniques and trending styles.
We have created facilities that are divided between classrooms for lectures and space for hands-on practice. The clinic labs feel like real salon environments where students learn and practice on paying clients and develop professional customer service skills. All services are provided by students under the direct supervision of licensed professionals.
An externship gives you the opportunity to work off campus at a professional salon or spa with actual clients. Many of our students who are given externships may be hired by that company, plus the 160 hours count toward professional license requirements.
We can teach you the ins and outs of working in a professional salon. Salon management classes teach you how to build a clientele, create a professional portfolio, and practice your people skills. This is part of our career-minded curriculum that helps prepare students for the real world after beauty school.
Salon Success Academy helps in a variety of community fundraisers throughout the year, and we love to get the whole school involved! We believe giving back to the community is the right thing to do, and you can find plenty of ways to help us along the way.
Salon Success Academy is proud to be a member of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS). This national organization provides us with the best practices in effective school management. We are also the co-founder of the Professional Beauty Federation of California (PBFC). To learn more about this important state organization, visit www.beautyfederation.org.
